摘要
This volume contains three papers: Magnetic Resonance in the Superconducting State, by Douglas E. MacLaughlin; Theory of Short-Range Order and Disorder in Tetrahedrally Bonded Semiconductors, by J. D. Joannopoulos and Marvin L. Cohen; and The Electronic Structure of Alloys by H. Ehrenreich and L. M. Schwartz. The volume begins with MacLaughlin's article which reviews comprehensively the application of magnetic resonance techniques to the investigation of superconducting phenomena. The article by Joannopoulos and Coeh discusses the effects of long- and short-range order and disorder on the electronic energy spectrum of amorphous semiconductors. Insight into this difficult problem is developed by considering detailed results involving several models including complex crystalline forms that exist only at high pressures. Ehrenreich and Schwartz present a comprehensive discussion of multiple scattering theoretical treatments pertaining to the electronic structure of binary substitutional alloys. Author and subject indexes are also included.
