摘要：
The absence of fuel resources in some regions of the Soviet Arctic makes it necessary to consider the possibility of using nuclear energy for district heating. Wide application of low-capacity nuclear heat-and-power plants (NHPP) in some cases becomes justifiable because the calculated costs of fossil fuel amount to 100-200 rubles per ton equivalent of coal. Particular decisions must be taken after a thorough study of all aspects of NHPP construction and operation.
