摘要：
After four years of development, solid-state power conversion devices have proved a satisfactory and reliable way of gaining the benefits of asynchronous three-phase induction motors for traction; these include better adhesion characteristics as well as a lighter and more robust motor needing less maintenance. One of three diesel-electric prototypes is in service in straight electric form, proving the versatility of this form of drive.
