摘要：
A CRT terminal design incorporating two languages - English and Hindi/Devnagari - has been presented. The design is around Intel's CRT controller 8275 and microprocessor 8085. TTY keyboard keys have been labelled to represent Hindi characters also. Basic characters of Hindi are coded into an 8 multiplied by 10 matrix and the matras (ascenders and descenders) are each coded in 8 multiplied by 5 matrix whereas English characters are of 8 multiplied by 10 size. The system can receive and display both English and Hindi characters row after row. The software takes care of locating the matras and combining the respective ascenders and descenders of consecutive Hindi rows.
