INTERPRETATION OF GRAVITY DATA FROM NEW LISKEARD, ONTARIO.

A study was made of the New Liskeard gravity high using gravity and density data collected by the Ontario Geological Survey. The regional-residual problem was tackled with a statistical trend surface refinement technique which enables the fitting of a representative regional surface by minimizing the distorting effects of local anomalies. A non-linear least squares refining program was incorporated into the modeling process. Three models of the intrusive body are presented: in two models the burial depth is constant; in the third, the model units are of varying depth.
