摘要：
A description is given pf two clinical investigations. In the first study, arousal from sleep in response to respiratory events and hypercarbic challenge were investigated. An investigation was also conducted to identify the pattern of respiratory muscle recruitment during unsupported exercise. Results of the studies are presented. In sddition, several areas are recommended for mutual consideration to facilitate collaboration between nurse-researchers and biomedical negineers.
