Limit analysis of reinforced concrete frames

摘要
Results of tests on 20 single bay single story reinforced concrete frames with fixed bases are reported. Parameters studied are different combinations of horizontal and vertical loads, column reinforcement, and the relative beam- column stiffness. The frames exhibited a gradual redistribution as different hinges formes in succession leading to final collapse. The behavior of the frames was analyzed using existing limit design theories and compared with the experimental data on ultimate strength, load deflection and moment- rotation characteristics.
