MEASUREMENT OF THE RATIO BETWEEN THE AMPLITUDES OF LIGHT PULSES AND THE LINEARITY OF A PHOTOELECTRON MULTIPLIER BY MEANS OF A STROBOSCOPIC OSCILLOSCOPE.
A method is described for measuring the ratio between two light pulses which differ in intensity by a factor of 10 to 300 with an accuracy of 2 to 3%. The method is based on using the power-law dependence of the gain of a photoelectron multiplier (pem) on the high voltage applied to the pem. This dependence was likewise used to measure the maximum linear current of a pem.
