Spectral and polarization characteristics of radiation when plane channelling

The aim of the paper is to calculate the spectral and polarization characteristics of gamma radiation produced in the plane channelling of electrons. It is used a new approach in which the process of electron scattering is described by means of the thermal layer model. It is supposed that electron scattering takes place in a thin layer near a crystallographic plane. It is found that the dependence of linear polarization value on the emitted photon energy is determined by the relation between the bremsstrahlung and radiation in channelling. Spectral and polarization characteristics calculated for different crystals and electron energy coincide satisfactorily with experimental ones.
