Better print quality on corrugated packaging is the objective of plants everywhere. The need for accuracy in making, mounting, proofing, and caring for printing plates has been addressed in several recent journal articles and conference papers. The advantages of selecting quality inks and controlling viscosity also have been stressed. Substitution of different mat materials and adhesives can change the total thickness of the printing plate, causing poor printing, registration problems, and excessive plate wear.
