The principles and applications of the no-bake, self-setting cold box, and rapid no-bake processes are reviewed. Chemical reactions, questions of industrial hygiene, and spent-sand disposition are discussed. The advantages of applications in iron, aluminum, and steel foundry molding and, especially, coremaking are described.
