Vulcanization and Properties of Liquid Rubbers.

New applications are found for liquid rubbers, which are produced using a modified method of synthesis, and for so-called ″telechelic″ elastomers, which have functional groups at the end of the molecule chains. By the use of liquid instead of solid rubbers expenditure of work and energy demand are reduced, because liquid rubber can be processed using less costly techniques (low pressure injection moulding, centrifugal casting). Liquid rubbers can be vulcanized with conventional crosslinking agents or through the functional groups in the chain. The authors have examined both methods of vulcanization and compared the properties of the vulcanizates obtained.
