摘要
In the goal towards a low-cost near-term inertial confinement fusion driver the potential of chemically or light gas gun imploded shells is assessed. In particular, it is shown that in combination with the recently proposed magnetic booster target concept, an inertial confinement fusion driver cheaper by several orders of magnitude than laser or particle beam drivers, but only using well established techniques, seems possible.
