Peaking power- combustion turbines and steam generators

What can be done when the boilers for old units are worn out and require extensive repairs while the remainder of the steam system and the turbine generator are in good condition. One company has found the solution to this problem by installing combustion turbine generators for peaking power and waste heat boilers to supply steam to the old steam turbine generators. The major equipment in this combined cycle is presented with a description of the controls.
