A model of multiple reactions with flash separation of products for the trialkylaluminum-olefin reaction system was developed. Reaction-flash separation experimental data over wide ranges of process conditions were generated in a CSTR and analyzed by the model to obtain the kinetics of transalkylation (displacement), isomerization, and dimerization reactions. Due to unification of reaction and flash separation effects, the overhead and bottom product molar rates constituted the key set of data required to generate the kinetic parameters. Comparison of the measured and model compositions provided a very good validation of the model. In spite of being specific to the trialkyaluminum-olefin reaction system, this model contains several general aspects which are expected to be very useful in dealing with processes involving reactions with phase separation.
