CSIS report urges integration of Europe's defence industry

Failure to integrate its defense capabilities and procurement will be a reason for disaster for Europe's defense industry, according to a US-based think tank, and could call into question NATO's viability. Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) said there was no viable alternatives to closer integration between EU members in the defense sphere. CSIS warned that European countries would be unable to collaborate in any meaningful way with the US, thereby calling into question 'MATO's viability as a military alliance'. CSIS findings echo the warning of the EDA that Europe's military operational needs and budgetary pressures 'necessitate pooling of resources and efforts'.
