Among several methods of LNG regasification the process employing a closed-cycle gas turbine with the LNG as heat sink is both very economical and environmentally compatible. The standard gas turbine is supplied with hot nitrogen from a heater designed for burning heavy fuel oil. Two alternative designs are also described.
