摘要
Traditionally the control of ferrous metal corrosion in cooling-water systems has been achieved by the use of formulations containing inorganic salts. Technically these treatments provide sufficient protection to allow cooling systems to operate efficiently and without trouble. However, environmentally the use of certain inorganic-based treatments is becoming more and more unacceptable. This paper describes the development of a total organic treatment which can be applied in a wide range of water qualities. The treatment contrains an organic corrosion inhibitor which when combined with a novel polymer system can provide effective corrosion inhibition in water qualities where previous organic treatments were ineffective. The effectiveness of the treatment to prevent under-deposit corrosion on pre-corroded metal surfaces has also been evaluated.
