Random steady-state vibrations are considered for a blade with an elongated leg carrying a dry-friction damper. The blade is simulated by an elastic weightless, rigidly fixed rod with two concentrated masses; the perturbation is simulated by a concentrated force being unbounded white noise. The problem is solved by statistic linearization. It is studied how to choose an optimum damper friction force reducing to minimum the largest of flexural stress variances in two blade sections - in the spot of the damper location and fixation.
