This digest contains 66 papers from COMPCON 79 Spring - eighth in the series begun by the IEEE Computer Society in 1972. Fifty-nine papers are abstracted separately. The 24 sessions dealt with some topics such as: computer applications in health care; reliability of computer systems; semiconductor memories; VLSI design; data base management; peripheral equipment; microprocessor architecture and software; computer network technology; software design; hardware and software standards; security of data. Separate publications by IEEE contain tutorials presented at the conference on software management and computer graphics.
