The duplex EMA conversion in rods is discussed for the pulse mode. Expressions are derived for the electromagnetic-field intensities in the air and in the metal. It is shown that formulas derived for calculations in the continuous and in the pulse modes agree if a pulse has a special shape. An approach is indicated for analyzing the propagation of a pulse having an arbitrary shape. Expressions are derived for the emf that is produced in a receiving transducer by a longitudinal normal wave. The long-wave limit is analyzed separately.
