摘要
Low background chamber with large working volume for geochemical measurements of positron radiators in natural medium is described. Iron blocks produced by continuous casting form the basis of the chamber structure; this method excludes machining and as to background it is the most pure. The design provides an easy variation of shielding geometry, by corresponding selection of blocks arrangement it was possible to reach minimum background. For further background decrease 20 mm lead and 14 mm copper layers are also used. Low background chamber volume is 1050×1200×1500 mm. The given chamber may be used simultaneously in several experiments.
