摘要
The paper describes some of the results of a research programme based on the operation of medium and slow speed diesel engines with variable quality fuels. The program was funded by the Commission of the European Community under the non-nuclear energy programme and includes thirty participants representing a number of engine manufacturers, oil companies and research establishments. The objective of the project is to develop an advanced Diesel Engine Fuel Oil Support (DEFOS) system comprising databases from experimentally measured data, advanced engine simulation and knowledge based system techniques and capable of predicting engine performance whilst catering for a wide range of engine design and fuel quality variables.
