Draft statute governing electronic legal transactions

In the legal sphere it is becoming increasingly common for declarations of intent to be transmitted by means of electronic media. These modern communication media do not offer protection against falsification of declarations of intent transmitted through the communication channel. The question of effectiveness and voidability of such declarations therefore requires legal classification and clarification of the regulations to be applied. The electronic medium is covered by German Civil Code which governs the legal written form. The proposition is based on the assumption that the electronic form can be prescribed by law just as well as legal usage.
