摘要
The clean bubble-chamber technique is used for measuring the nucleation frequency in superheated water held in glass capillaries at atmospheric pressure and temperature from 221 to 248. 3 degree C. It is found that mechanical surface defects associated with leaching of glass do not affect the temperature of attainable superheat, which is 248 degree C in this case. Data on the effect of gamma radiation on the stability of metastable water are obtained.
