OXYGEN IN 08Fkp RIMMMING STEEL AND ITS INFLUENCE ON STEEL QUALITY.

摘要
A thermodynamic analysis is made of the behavior of oxygen in iron containing vanadium and manganese. The oxygen concentrations obtained by calculation are compared with the actual content in heats of 08Fkp steel. To obtain a suitable structure in the 08Fkp ingot the manganese content of the steel must not exceed 0. 3%. The behavior of oxygen during the solidification of ingots was examined. An increase in oxygen content to 0. 05% leads to more intensive rimming of the steel in the ingot mold and reduces the number of defects on the surface of slabs.
