The novel data are given on the mechanical properties, formability, weldability, activation characteristics and corrosion behavior of alloy 33 (Cr-33, Fe-32, Ni-31, Mo-1.6, Cu-0.6, N-0.4%). It is shown that the combination of high strength, ductility, phase stability with resistance against the local corrosion in halide, mineral acid and alkaline solutions permits to apply alloy 33 for manufacturing the heat exchangers, the equipment for sulfuric acid production, pressure vessels. The sheet stamped heat exchangers without and with laser welding are profitably tested.
