摘要
The Rotterdam is equipped with a control concept that represents today's best available technology. It is the successor to the owner's hopper dredger AMSTERDAM, built in 1996 at Merwede Shipyard. The Integrated Hopper Control System (IHCS) is designed to integrate all dredging and navigation systems. It is operated using independent programmable logic controllers (PLCs) located at various positions on the vessel and connected via a redundant fibre optic network.
