Advances in data-acquisition computer systems have contributed to the precision and pace of wind-tunnel testing. Higher sampling rates enable researchers to collect data from more transducers and collect more data per second from each transducer, providing higher spatial and temporal resolution. New laser imaging techniques offer more efficient and precise flow visualization data, and real-time analysis and display make it possible to conduct a series of experiments more quickly than before.
