A method is proposed for determining the dissolution rate of surfaces of anodic oxide films (AOF) during aluminum anodizing. The dissolution rate of the AOF surface was determined as the difference between two AOF thicknesses found by anodizing the Al to the same depth at anodic potentials divided by the difference in respective anodizing times. An experimental study was conducted on the dissolution rate of AOF surface by anodizing Al in oxalic acid solutions.
