Calculation of Stresses and Temperature Fields in Finned-Tube Walls and Welded-On Components.

Walls that combine a quantity of finned tubes are widely used in conventional boilers. The problems of analytically determining the stresses in such walls are demonstrated by means of an example. The finite element method which is applicable to any conditions or configurations is briefly described and several numerical results are graphically presented and discussed. Another example shows how the distribution of the temperature in a geometrically complicated component is determined.
