RECENT ADVANCES AND USES OF COLD FORGING IN JAPAN.

Development of advances and uses of cold forging in Japan for last quarter of a century and their present state are outlined. Some observations on Japanese techniques and practices are made regarding blank materials, tools, lubricants and presses. Typical examples of industrial application to parts of bicycles, automotives, etc. and parts made of non-ferrous metals are illustrated. Reference is also made to Japanesque cold forging processes and to some warm forging practices.
