It has been suggested that the auxiliary-high-frequency generator should be replaced by a delay line with a linear amplitude and phase characteristic when measuring a phase shift by the frequency transformation method. It is shown that the use of a delay line to analyze the phase-frequency characteristics of linear four-terminal networks is impractical.
