This paper deals with the statistics of gain reduction and side-lobe distortion caused by Gaussian hyperboloid surface errors with bell shaped correlation in Cassegrain antenna systems. For the statistics of the paraboloid feed pattern approximations of the covariance functions could be derived and proved numerically as well as by simulation with 5000 hyperboloids. Based on this and the well known Ruze results the statistics of the antenna radiation pattern are discussed. It is shown that in the gain reduction formula the surface error variances of both reflectors have to be added, the scattered power by hyperboloid surface errors is concentrated in the near axis side lobes caused by strong correlation in the paraboloid feed pattern.
