Methods of controlling the effects of corrosion on steel containers, caused by the harsh enviroment in which they spend a major portion of their life, have provided a challenge for coatings systems suppliers since the advent of containerisation. Despite the many advances made, the search for the optimum sysstem continues. This article outlines the development of a new approach to corrosion control systems based on the utilisation of controlled release polymers.
