摘要：

Mathematical analysis of heat transfer in solidifying ingots is presented. Peculiarities of alloys solidification, the theory of quasi-equilibrium mushy zone, temperature variation in the molten core of solidifying ingots, and enthalpy change of solidifying steel are considered. Convective movement of molten metal in the liquid core, kinetics of the process of crystals transfer to the bottom part of the ingots, and mass transfer of impurities from the mushy zone to the liquid core of crystallizing ingots are discussed.
