DISTRIBUTION OF PUBLIC TRANSPORT SERVICES IN LONDON.

An analysis has been made of the geographic distribution of some characteristics of public transport facilities in London, England. It was found that the density of roads carrying bus routes, the density of bus routes, the bus travel intensity (bus distance per unit area per unit time) and the rail station density were proportional to the exponential of some multiple of the square root of the distance from the city center. Other variables of urban travel, related to private transport, have been found to be distributed in a similar fashion.
