Modeling of fracture of particulate-filled elastomer accounting of characteristic size of filler

摘要
A model for appearing of flaws in filled elastomers, based on thermofluctuational mechanism is given; it is proposed to treat it using the methods of the probability theory. It is shown that this approach predicts a dependence of damage accumulation on the size of filler particles. Using additional hypothesis of flaws growing starting from the surface of filler particles, we managed to explain a dependence of composite strength on particular sort of filler and to relate peculiarities of fracture to total surface area of the filler.
