The treatment of the DR spectra obtained is complicated by the fact that the parameters may depend on a number of factors - in particular, on the grain-size composition, which is connected with the electronic structure only indirectly. The grain-size compositions of coal with different degrees of grinding and the spectra obtained by the diffuse reflection method are compared.
