APPROACH OF PROGRAM DOCUMENTATION AND DATA REPRESENTATION.

An attempt is made to provide a hierarchical, structural documentation method as a control part and a data part. The partition method closely follows LOGOS. The emphasis of the study is on data representation, for (1) block entries; (2) data shared through procedure calls and (3) structured data, such as rings, linked lists and arrays. Every unit of data is stored in a data cell which contains the name, value and the attributes of the data in a hierarchical way. The difficulties of this representation method are also discussed. This representation method can also show the dynamic behaviors of a program. It is especially useful for programs with highly mutual interactions, for instance, in a multiprocessor, multiprogramming environment, such as distributed data processing.
