Results of industrial tests of two methods of estimating p. f. (pulverized fuel) flowrate are discussed. The first method is based on measurement of pressure differential over the p. f. line; and the second - on the electrostatic principle. Mathematical equations involved are explained. It is concluded that the electrostatic method of estimating fuel flow rate is characterized by low accuracy whereas the signal from pressure differential over the p. f. line is more reliable. The fuel flowrate can be estimated by standard measuring units of the M-IV type, and the sphere of possible application of the considered signal can be, for instance, control of the fuel-air ratio for each burner over 10 t/h in capacity.
