摘要
The measurement of two-photon decay of single K vacancies in gold atoms following photoionization with synchrotron radiation was presented in the article. When the photons share the transition energy equally and have opening angles near θ=π/2, the results for the 2s→1s and 3d→1s two-photon transitions determined the rates for two-photon decay. It was shown that the tunability at hard x-ray energies provides access to the K shells of all elements.
