摘要：

The US clean coal technology program which began as a US$400 million initiative to develop inexpensive means to control acid rain precursor pollutants (SO2 and NOx) has grown significantly in importance. Now fonding projects valued at over US$6 billion the technologies being demonstrated will propel the projected dramatic increases in worldwide coal use expected between now and the year 2010.
