摘要
The requirement for brittle fracture arrestability of the steel used for tank shell is discussed. If a brittle fracture is initiated and propagated at the vertical weld seam, it should be arrested at the adjacent plate material to prevent failure of the tank. In order to meet this safety requirement, 2. 5% Ni SHT processed steel plate SHT-2N37 has been developed. Because of its high toughness, SHT-2N37 shows excellent properties of LPG service temperatures.
