摘要
A report on the development of tungsten-rhenium alloy wire for commercial applications is presented. Homogenisation of the alloys using thermomechanical treatment (TMT) to obtain the desired mechanical and thermoelectric properties is discussed. The basic principles that govern the microstructural evolution of alloys during TMT and the effects of wire annealing are investigated. An improvement in material performance and productivity by process enhancements is observed.
