Plastics in the 21th century

Plastics available nowadays highly satisfy both technical and aesthetic requirements and play an unambiguously positive role from the point of view of the maintainable development of the mankind. The only factor impeding the development of our industry is the insufficient, for the time being, degree of recycling of plastics wastes. The plastics producing and processing companies have adequate knowledge, innovation power and financial strength to solve these problems and to improve the image of the plastics to the level they deserve. 'We can succeed in the global world only in case we not only become aware of the trends but can also anticipate the changes of the market demands and harmonise with the general social development', says the author, who is the President of the Association of Hungarian Plastics Producers and Processors.
