Method and tool for IDEF3 based process modeling

After explaining the basic requirements of process modeling, the paper points out the deficiencies of current methods, which are the redundancy of information collection and the lack of information connection. The IDEF3-based process modeling method is proposed to solve the problems. In the method, the process is described with extended IDEF3, and the correlative information, such as data, resource, and organization, is attached to activities. Within the method, process modeling is more effective and flexible, and models are more applicable for analysis. At last, the software tool of Easy IDEF3, supporting the method, is briefly introduced.
