摘要
By using the squeeze casting process for aluminum pistons, new possibilities of component reinforcement were devised. At present, the most promising solutions are short ceramic fibers made from alumina or silicon carbide as well as high-porosity sintered steel. In combination with the well-known possibilities of the gravity casting process in permanent molds, there are many alternative solutions to problems which allow an optimized solution for each application.
