The program of the European Launcher Development Organization (ELDO) for the carrier system Europa III included the development and production of a thrust frame equipment mock-up (scale 1:1). The MIG welding of the ring frame of high strength aluminum alloy AlZnMg 1 F36 with S-AlMg4. 5Mn filler metal is described and illustrated.
