Transfer Matrix Method and the Matrix Displacement Method for Plane Reinforced Concrete Frames Using the Tangent Stiffnesses.

This paper presents a practical method for the numerical analysis of nonlinear plane reinforced frames using the transfer matrix method and the matrix displacement method. The transfer matrix method is used to analyse the reinforced concrete members of the structure. Subsequently the matrix displacement method calculates the total system. Therefore the transfer matrix and the tangent stiffness matrix are derived for an arbitrary point of reference. The relationship between the transfer matrix and the tangent stiffness matrix is explained. Some examples show the advantages attainable in matrix size reduction by the combined method.
